Soundtrack
The soundtrack is written, orchestrated and conducted by composer Howard Shore, and it brilliantly captures the adventure, excitement and emotions of the final film in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. It features Into The West performed by Annie Lennox, as well as performances by Ben del Maestro, Renée Fleming and Sir James Galway. Billy Boyd and Viggo Mortensen, two of the main actors in the movie, are also featured on this soundtrack.
The song Into The West won an Academy Award for best orginal song in 2003, while Howard Shore recieved an award for best Original Score.
